Blog Post #8 and #9

How dare Jack Merridew kill the pig just for a gift to the beast? Why did Jack have to leave the tribe and start off fresh from the start? To me Jack was just being stubborn and did not care about the other members of the tribe. After Simon ran to Ralph saying the beast talked to him. Also, when Simon said all of the details and said they circled around it. Then they speared the pig in the butt. Then finally got sticks that were really sharp and just cut off the pigs head. I still can not believe Jack would do something like that. The reason Jack did this was because he though if he and his tribe gave the beast a gift that it would leave his tribe alone. If Jack stayed with Ralph’s group then none of this wouldn’t happen. Well maybe if Jack stayed the whole tribe could have started a new election for chief, but Jack is gone. The final things are the pig turned out to be Lord of the Flies and Jack is new chief of the other tribe of boys.

Part 2
Jack Merridew is the one who killed Simon because he thought Simon was the beast in disguise. My evidence is when Jack and the boys were saying Kill the beast! Cut his throat! Spill his blood. Another evidence was like I said earlier was when Jack said to the littluns and biguns that Simon was the beast in disguise. Well to me Jack and his tribe didn’t know when this random thing just comes running right out of the forests and so they had to protect themselves by killing it. When they said the kill the beast chant something always happens. The last piece of evidence is when Jack says “Simon could be the beast in disguise” that just shocked me because he knew that it was Simon and he still killed him. That says Jack doesn’t care if anything happens to some now because he killed one of his boys. This is why Jack killed Simon.
